(Galatians 6: 1 – 10)

By Sis. Toyin Fasosin

Introduction: A household consist of those dwelling together under the same roof. It is the will of God that we be a blessing to those belonging to the household of faith that is those who are connected with us by reasoning of our Christian heritage. In the household of faith, there are different members and each member is different from the other but unique in every way. God is the one who sets us up as members of the same family and it is His desire for us to be stable and set in His household.

What is the Household of Faith? It is the Body of Christ or the Church of Christ or any type of Christian fellowship where Christ is the foundation.

Be a Blessing: As we dwell together in the household of faith, it is almost impossible for us not to disagree but we must be willing to endure hardness and not get irritable at every opportunity.

Gal. 6:1 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted”. God wants those who are stronger spiritually to be humble and gentle with those who are weaker. It takes humility to correct those who are doing wrong.

Vs. 2: “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” We are made for each other and should be our brothers’ keepers and accountability partners.

Vs. 3: “For if a man think himself to be something, when he is nothing, he deceiveth himself.”We need to understand that none of us is perfect in the eyes of God.

Vs. 4: “But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.” Let’s perform self-examination and not compare ourselves with each other because the Bible says those who do that are not wise. Jesus should be our standard for comparison.

Vs. 5: “For every man shall bear his own burden.” We will be self-accountable.

Vs. 6: “Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things.”We should be a blessing to our pastors by praying for them and sowing financially into their lives.

Vs. 7: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” We must understand that we cannot deceive God, we will surely reap what we sow.

Vs. 8: “For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.” Hell is real and heaven is real, so let’s be mindful of how we live.

Vs. 9: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” We should not grow weary in well-doing, we should not quit. Our due season may be different; our pay day is coming.

Vs. 10: “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them that are of the household of faith.” Let’s be good to one another, let’s look for opportunity to do good. Let show the love of God to all.
