The Empty Tomb

Introduction: Easter Sunday commemorates the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ from the dead. It is the climax of the events of the final days of Jesus’ coming to the world. Three days earlier on Good Friday, He was betrayed, arrested, tortured and crucified on the cross of Calvary. On Easter morning, He rose from the dead as He has promised. Of what importance is the empty tomb. A tomb is where we bury the dead. Our Lord Jesus was buried in the tomb but thank God today His tomb is empty. The resurrection of Jesus from the dead and the empty tomb means different things to different people.
