Carriers of His Glory (Part II)

Introduction: In the book of Heb. 11, the Bible provides a few examples of people who enjoyed the glory of God. These include Abel, Enoch, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Moses, Joshua and Rahab. Others include David, Gideon, Samuel and the Prophets. In every generation until now, men and women are still carrying the glory of God. Why do we need to carry God’s glory? What is the purpose of His glory? This is the focus of this message and the Bible provides some information on this in Heb. 11: 33 – 40.

(Hebrews 11: 17 – 40)

1. The glory of God makes us to subdue kingdoms (v. 33). The children of Israel subdued many kingdoms on their way to the Promised Land because the glory of God was upon them. Daniel and his friends subdued all their enemies. The glory of God on a man’s life will enable him to subdue the kingdom of darkness

2. The glory of God will make us live in righteousness: Moses enjoyed the glory of God and he had a testimony that he lived righteous. As God’s children, we have and can live in His righteousness because we are carriers of His glory.

3. The glory of God will make us inherit His promises: Our God is a covenant-keeping God and He keeps His promises to a thousand generations. God cannot lie and as long as we are carriers of His glory, we will inherit every blessing He has promised us. We will enjoy divine health, abundant life and prosperity. We will enjoy divine favor and supernatural breakthrough.

4. The glory of God will make us stop the mouth of lions: We read in the Bible that David killed the lion and the bear. Samson also killed a lion. The Bible says the devil is like a roaring lion and as God’s children we can stop his mouth because we are carriers of His glory.

5. The glory of God will make us quench the violence of fire: Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were thrown into the fiery furnace by king Nebuchadnezzar but the fire did not harm them because they were carriers of God’s glory. We too can experience similar miracles as we carry the glory of God.

6. The glory of God will make us escape the edge of the sword: David escaped the sword of Saul because he was a carrier of God’s glory. The glory of God on us enables us to escape the weapons of our enemy the devil

7. The glory of God will make us strong: Our weaknesses are exchanged for His strength as we carry the glory of God. The Bible says that those who know their God shall be strong and shall do exploits.

8. The glory of God will make us valiant in fight: The Bible says in all of these things we are more than conquerors. Our battle is with the kingdom of devil and the glory of God will help us to fight and to overcome our enemy.

9. The glory of God will make us to chase the enemy and do supernatural exploits such as raising the dead.

10. The glory of God will make us endure afflictions: Many of the Saints in the Bible endured great afflictions because they refused to compromise their faith. The glory of God will help us to endure life’s afflictions regardless of what they are.
