Introduction: After the death of Moses, God had to choose another person to lead the children of Israel from the wilderness into the Promised Land. That mantle of leadership fell upon Joshua. Under Moses the children of Israel lived and wandered in the wilderness for forty years; under Joshua it was a new day and a new beginning. The season of wandering was over.
