Hearing God
Introduction: One of the most challenging things for us as believers is knowing the mind of God in a particular situation. As this year gradually rolls to its end and as we wait with anticipation to receive the new year, I believe this is the right time to begin to ask God for His plans for us. You do not want to wait until the new year before you begin to ask God for what He wants to do with your life. When we fail to plan, then we are planning to fail.
My Cup Overflows
Introduction: For the past couple of weeks, we have been discussing the topic of overflow because that is God’s word for JHES in 2013. I believe many of us already have a testimony of overflow and peradventure, you have not, there is still a lot that God can do before the end of the year. Previously, we discussed how God used five loaves of bread and two fishes to feed the multitude and there were still 12 baskets full of overflow.
The God Of Overflow
Introduction: To overflow means to flow over the brim. It means to extend beyond the limits; to be very abundant or to be more than enough. All of these definitions describe our God. The Bible contains many testimonies of the God of overflow. On one occasion, God made the Red Sea to overflow (Deut. 11:4). He also made the River Jordan to overflow its banks (Joshua 3:15). As the Israelites journeyed through the wilderness God provided them quails (Ex. 16:13, Ps. 105: 40) and manna in abundance (Ex. 16:35).
